Industrial Chemicals
BRADE provides base materials for foam manufacturing as well as a range of Polyutherane additives to optimize manufacturing.
Polyurethanes
Polyurethanes (PU) are one of the most versatile plastic materials. The nature of the chemistry allows polyurethanes to be adapted to solve challenging problems, to be moulded into unusual shapes and to enhance industrial and consumer products by adding comfort, warmth and convenience to our lives.
Polyurethanes are formed by the reaction of a polyol (an alcohol with more than two reactive hydroxyl groups per molecule) with a diisocyanate or a polymeric isocyanate, in the presence of suitable catalysts and additives.
Polyurethane applications can be found in mattresses, couches, insulation, liquid coatings and paints, tough elastomers such as roller blade wheels, soft flexible foam toys, some elastic fibres and in many other applications.
These surfactants assist the process in flexible and rigid foam manufacturing in four ways:
- Improve the compatibility of the raw materials
- Stabilizing bubbles
- Dispersing the inlet gas
- Prevention of coalescence
The final application determines the choice of additive used.
We also have silicone release agents for rigid foam applications to assist in smooth release of the final product.
